What happened
Saudi aviation authority GACA reported another attack on King Khalid International Airport on Sunday afternoon, followed by an evening attack at King Fahd International Airport in Dammam. Saudi Press Agency carried the Riyadh statement on October 11. It also published the Dammam statement that evening. Authorities were assessing damage and safety at both airports.
AFP subsequently reported one Pakistani resident killed and 11 people injured in Sunday's Riyadh attack, citing GACA. Those figures belong to Sunday's event, not the separate fatal attack on Saturday. GACA's Monday notice extended the suspension of Riyadh airport operations; a reopening has not been established in the sources reviewed.
Operational impact
Our defense panel assesses repeated airport disruption as a personnel-travel and crew-change risk. Operators should confirm each itinerary with the airline and airport before dispatch. An airport attack does not establish an outage at Dammam's petroleum infrastructure, interrupted terminal loading or a Saudi crude-production loss.
The Saudi country update separates these new events from earlier attacks. For the wider energy picture, today's daily brief examines shipping exposure alongside declining estimated US offshore shut-ins.
Watch: Official reopening notices, airport-specific damage assessments and any separately verified energy-facility disruption.
